One of the perks of being a Wedding Photographer is that I get to meet great people like Mike and Lindsaye.
Last winter I was contacted by Mike. He told me that he was going to propose to Lindsaye during an evening stroll at the Milford Green and he wanted that moment photographed. I don’t get the opportunity to capture that kind of special moment everyday so naturally I was excited to do it for him. On December 8th, 2012 I waited at the Milford Green for Mike and Lindsaye to come along. I had to stay hidden from view so that Lindsaye didn’t get suspicious. It was suppose to be a surprise, so if she saw a man with a huge camera pointed at her she may think something was up. I was pretty worried that I would be spotted at first, but then something perfect happened. A limo pulled up and let out a wedding party. They were here to take photos! This was a perfect opportunity for me to blend in. I picked up my camera and walked along with the bridal party and photographer that was there for them.
I stayed with the group for a bit and kept an eye out for Mike and Lindsaye. Shortly after they arrived and Mike got down on one knee and smiled up at Lindsaye. I was quite a distance away from them but I heard Lindsaye’s response to Mike very clearly! She was ecstatic to say the least. It was one of the most touching moments I have ever witnessed and one of the most definite “YES”s you can imagine. After a few minutes I walked over and met them for the first time.
Shortly after I was contacted by them again, but this time to sign me as their Wedding Photographer. When we got together and discussed their wedding day I felt like I had known them forever. They are absolutely amazing people. So down to earth, friendly, and easy going.
In August of 2013 we did an Alice In Wonderland Themed Engagement Session. We had so much fun that day and created some of my favorite photographs to date. It left me looking even more forward to their wedding day.
Finally, the day was upon us. The wedding day was here.
I met up with Lindsaye at her home to get some shots of her and her bridal party getting ready while my assistant photographer Zak DePiero met up with Mike and the guys at the Double Tree Hotel.
The ceremony and reception were both located at the New England Carousel Museum in Bristol, CT. We had decided that the day would run much smoother if we did the photos before the ceremony. This way right after they become husband and wife, they can enjoy their cocktail hour with the guests. The Carousel Museum was a perfect choice for Mike and Lindsaye’s wedding. It was unique and had a certain charm to it, as they do. Plus, it complimented the theme of their wedding nicely.
If you have ever Mike and Lindsaye you would know that they are perfect for each other. They compliment each other perfectly and I can’t help but smile when I think of the love they so clearly have for one another. I am grateful for being chosen to capture one of the most memorable years of their life. From the proposal, to one of the most memorable engagement sessions I have ever done, to the wedding day itself. I am blessed to have met them and wish them both a life filled with love, laughter, and endless happiness.
Congratulations Mike and Lindsaye Hornyak!

Hi Bill! These are just sooooo amazing. I constantly read/review/hunt/obsess over wedding photography and for the most part see one or two magical pictures that make my heart pump, in just this blog post there are at least 6 that are just so magically timeless and frameable I can’t even imagine what the full set has. The combination of you and the Hornyak’s just made some beautiful eye candy for the rest of us!!!
