Meghan & Ryan’s Engagement Session – Roosevelt Forest – Stratford, CT {Fritz Photography}

Let me start off by saying that this is an engagement session I have been looking forward to since the first time I met this couple and it was totally worth the wait!  When we first met I suggested doing a snowy winter E-Session.  I have always wanted to do an engagement session in the snow, but as you can imagine planning anything around snow is a tricky thing to do.  You could either wait for it to snow and hope everyone is available on that day or you can pick a random day and hope there is snow on the ground and the weather is perfect.  We decided to go with the second option and everything worked out perfectly, like it was meant to be!

Meghan and Ryan decided to do the photo shoot at Roosevelt Forest in Stratford, CT.  This was a perfect choice, not only because of how beautiful it is but also because this is the location where Ryan got down on one knee and asked Meghan to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.  It adds a certain level of sentimentalism to the photos that no other location could have added for them.
Being February in New England we expected it to be pretty cold, especially since we planned on trotting through the snow.  The temperature was 19°F with a windchill of 4°F but that didn’t slow us down!  Meghan and Ryan brought a blanket to cuddle up under to keep each other warm and even made a fire to sit around and drank hot chocolate.  In total we were outside in the snow for about 2 hours, maybe a little more.  We were having so much fun that time flew by, even in the cold!  We knew it was time to wrap up the shoot when I noticed that my jeans were literally frozen solid from walking and kneeling in the snow! 
Spending this time with Meghan and Ryan has only made me even more excited to capture their wedding day.  I would like to thank them for braving the cold with me and for choosing me as their photographer.  8 months and counting until the big day!
